Happy Holidays 2019

I was commissioned to create a holiday card for my parents, and in the meantime got an idea for a holiday of my own. For my parents card, it was a simple photo touch-up with a hand drawn Christmas-themed border with ornaments.

The card I made for my fiance and I's little "family" was influenced by classic 90's studio photos. I organized the cat photoshoot in front of a green screen, separately edited each pair of us into the frame (for that extra "offbeat" feel...and because cats aren't the best at sitting still). Red and green lasers emit a glow in the background with holly and ribbon framing the plaid edges. I also individually painted the ornaments. The "New Year" back is an outtake photo I liked and photoshopped 2020 glasses on the cats for a silly look.

These were a ton of fun to make, lots of experimenting with texture and patterns. My friends seem to like it a lot when I posted it to Instagram and if it makes you smile too, I'm glad. Happy Holidays & Happy New Year!
